Key challenge in finding literacy criticisms

Most newer books (less than 15 years old) are more difficult to find Literacy Criticisms

  • newer books (less than 15 years old) are more difficult to find Literacy Criticisms
  • generally only serious fiction have literacy criticisms (i.e you will find literacy criticisms for Margaret Atwood but not Tom Clancy)
  • literacy criticisms is NOT the same as a book review. A literacy criticism evaluates and interpretes the work and is more indepth than a review. The criticism is written by an establish critic of literature

Find Literacy Criticisms from Reference Books (Call Number 920 in Reveference)

  • Use Literacy Criticism reference books ether Contempory Authors  (CA) or Contempory Literacy Criticism (CLC)
  • Find the index Volume # 126 in Contempory Authors  and find the authors name in the index
  • Look for either CA or CLC and see if we have that volume
  • Find the volume and look up the authors name
  • You cannot take Literacy Criticism reference books out of the library
